Very nice place, adorable neighbouhood, excellent support for all my demands, highly recomend it!
" I am glad to share my wonderful experience at Valentino's. Its a very beautiful place, well provided whith very good linens, kitchen suplies, confortable furniture, and the manager was available and helpful for what i needed. The apartment is in the most charming neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, very secure to walk around, many restaurants, bars, shops, delis, easy to take buses, cabs and the metro is at a nice walking distance. What gave me confortable ways to go everywhere else. The house is so beautiful, the living and dinning room have a wide glass door to the patio , what gives the sensation of being in a cozy home whith garden. Wifi and TVs. There is nice outdoor furniture to enjoy sunny days, but rainy days were also enjoyed through the large windows in bedroom( from where i relaxed looking at wonderful sunsets, from the bed!) Everything looks new and very clean. The bathroom is perfect and another beautiful view from the city. Easy to buy food nearby and cook at home . The place gave me the opportunity to be at B.Aires as a local, walking by, enjoying the nice plazas and beautiful people. Its perfect for stay at the same time, at home and exploring the city. Its a place to return, for sure! I apreciated and enjoyed all the experience. Recomend it for people that comes for business, vacation, first time or returning to Argentina. "Marcia Mattar

Valentino apartment; Palermo Soho, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
" What a wonderful time I had in Thom's Valentino apartment. I am not easily impressed, but I certainly was in this case. The apartment is spacious, modern, and has everything one would need for a short or extended stay; I was here 3 months. One of it's unique features is that is has a huge terrace facing south, and a smaller one off the bedroom facing north. Since I was here during winter, I found the smaller terrace allowed me to sunbath even when the temperature was in the fifties. That was a really nice feature being able to have my coffee and warm up in the sun. Also, this design provides cross ventilation, which is very important to me, and is a unique feature, in contrast to most Buenos Aires apartments which are usually half the size and only face one direction. After researching all the neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, Palermo Soho was the obvious choice for me. Since I'm originally from Manhattan, I felt right at home, only this Soho has a lot more to offer in terms of all the restaurants, shops, bars, clubs, etc... Also, being the "Paris of South America" almost every corner has a sidewalk cafe complete with outdoor heating for those chilly days. Thom was a pleasure to work with, and his extremely capable manager, Guille, is a delight. She was super efficient and responsive with any questions I had, and was a wealth of knowledge and information for anything Buenos Aires, and Argentina in general. And Nilda, the housekeeper cleaned like I've never seen anyone clean before. Buenos Aires is a wonderful city and I just can't say enough about the apartment, Thom, and Guille. The only downside is now I'm ruined for anything else. I highly recommend the Valentino apartment for your next visit to Buenos Aires. Sincerely, Michael M. "Michael Mayo

EXCELLENT LOCATION, EXCELLENT APARTMENT
" My family and I stayed at Thom's penthouse for a week in March. I had previously stayed there and wanted to show my family from Turkey Buenos Aires and of course, I knew where the best place to stay is! This was my family's very first visit to Argentina and they also told me how wonderful was their stay at Thom's apartment. Guille, the apartment manager was very helpful with every need or inquiry we had during our stay. She arranged our pick up from the airport to the apartment and gave us lots of nice tips on our next destination to Rio de Janerio. You always feel very much at home at this condo, nicely furnished, with fast internet access and even a mobile phone for your use,. It's clean and comfortable with a huge deck. I truly love staying at this condo and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great location to best restaurants, shops and entertainment. Thanks Thom ! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. "DEE CURTIS

STILL THE BEST CONDO
" My husband and I stayed at Thom's condo for a month three years ago and we just returned from another monthlong stay. Just as wonderful. It is a special place. If you read the reviews, you will see that Thom's guests uniformly love and praise the condo. There are many reasons for that. First, Thom is extremely easy to deal with, responsive to all inquiries and honest. Guille is more than helpful (and if you are a newcomer to BA, you will have an immediate sense of security). Myrian cleans well, is honest and nice. Finally, Aldo is responsible and on time to get you to and from the airport. The condo itself feels, to us, like a home away from home. It is clean, well-furnished, in the best location and COMFORTABLE. As others have mentioned, there are two patios, two bathrooms, a very comfortable bed, and plenty of hot water. It also has other great amenities like lots of closet space, more than enough mirrors, and a direct line to Thom and Guille in the event of a problem (our key broke and Guille was there within minutes to give us another one). I always feel a little anxiety about renting a place to stay when travelling. If you stay in "the penthouse", you can skip the anxiety step and go directly to happy. "Judith Rodner

Location Location Location
" I stayed here with my two teenage kids last spring break and loved the apartment and neighborhood. Walked to wonderful coffee house across the street every morning and then around corner to full grocery store with excellent bakery. Walked to dinner every night, so many great restaurants in the area, close to subway, and everything you might need. The apartment itself is in beautiful shape and the large patio was so great for afternoon siestas in the sun. Guille was a tremendous help with getting us checked in and full of good tips about which sights to avoid and where to go. You will have a wonderful experience in BA in this apartment. Wonderful apartment in great location
" Don`t forget: you are in a lively city that never sleeps, you`ll get some noise from the traffic and you can hear loud music (especially at weekends), because you are close to an entertainment area. So enjoy it. you get a nice apartment, spacious and equipped with all utensils of daily use. showpiece is the terrace, use it as often you can. i spent six weeks in the apartment and had a wonderful time.for sightseeing i was at plaza de mayo within half an hour (12min walk, 13min subte). entertainment area starts round the corner, you find restaurants, bars and shops. a supermarket is one street ahead. who asks for more? Guille, the manager, is very, very helpful and always with a smile on her face. so let all troubles at home and dive into the life of BA. a hint: don`t miss palacio barolo in av. de mayo 1370! take part in a guided tour ($220) up to the top. it`s an adventure and you are rewarded with great views from the lighthouse. Great location, very nice and comfortable
" Great location in Palermo Soho. We walked to dinner every evening. The apartment itself is nicely appointed and comfortable. The pictures are accurate. The weather wasn't good for us so we didn't get to enjoy the lovely terrace but it looks wonderful. And, as others have mentioned, the manager, Guille, is a treasure. Very nice and helpful with all sorts of hints on BA. Ask her about where to go for leather! Thom the owner is also very easy to deal with and helpful. All in all, a very good experience. "Larry Meyer

Great location and apartment in Palermo Soho
" Enjoyed a great week in Palermo! The apartment was complete with all the nice amenities needed for a week, quiet balcony for morning coffee, etc. And the location is great - lots of good places to eat, and easy walking to other areas of Palermo. Only downside - eventually one must go home! "Leonard R. Svensson

The best place to stay and discover Buenos Aires and the feeling: La Viruta, Don Julio and Bus 39
" The organization when arrived and picked up at the airport, then the responsible manager (a very efficient and nice lady) which gives you a lot of useful hints about restaurants and other places to go, as mentioned. There is a sube card in the flat, thats a card to use the very efficient bus system in buenos aires and the best is, you leave the building and in two minutes in costa rica street there you take the line 39 which connects you with every part of the city. The apartment itself is wonderful, all the fotos show really like it is, the balcony perfect, the kitchen perfect. And Palermo Soho where the apartment is located is just wonderful, nice little shops, trees everywhere, walking distance to Plaza Italia and all the parks, even the Palermo Golf Course is there, greenfee 170 pesos. Amazing. The owner is very helpful and everything was complied with as agreed. We can truly recommend to start the BA adventure there. "Dirk Martens

Great apartment in Palermo Buenos Aires
" My husband and I stayed here for a week and loved it. It is more spacious than we thought and the large deck is fabulous. There are a lot of great restaurants all around and it's only a 10 min walk to the metro. The apartment had a wonderful relaxed feel to it, light and sunny and was always good to come back to after our adventures out and about in BA. Guille (apartment manager) was very helpful. She made a dinner reservation for us, told us about locals gathering for tango and also arranged a ride to the airport . Would definitely recommend this wonderful apartment to my friends. Going outside the tourist circuit
" Don't be scared by the Google images of the neighborhood. The graffitis on the facades of the buildings do not do justice to the convivial and relaxed atmosphere of the place. The locals who live on the other floors in the building are super nice, welcoming and quiet. Although the number of restaurants, clubs and places of interest in the neighborhood is astounding, you hear nothing from the street life at night whether you are inside the apartment or on the exquisite (and unexpectedly large ) terrace. The apartment feels spacious; everything works; there are two small (by US standards) supermarkets within 5 minutes walking. The metro (Plaza Italia) is 10 minutes away. There are so many taxis in Bs.As. that you never have to wait more than 2 minutes in front the building to catch one. The biggest surprise was not that the apartment was actually nicer than described on the VERBO website; it was the resourcefulness of the local manager. Let me explain. Just in case, I had brought a music score that I thought could be re-written as a Tango. Well, within one day of her return from vacation, she was able to introduce me to a competent young composer who rewrote the score in three days and a poet who came up with a version of the song in Castellano in two working sessions at the apartment. This no doubt is a measure of the openness, energy and kindness of Bs.As. residents. "Pierre Etienne MD

Great apartment in Palermo, Buenos Aires
" My wife and I stayed at this property from 12/28/15 to 02/08/16 and found the apartment to be comfortable and roomy with a fabulous deck where we enjoyed asados (BBQ's) quite a few times. The apartment is in an area of some of the best shopping and restaurants in Buenos Aires and is a great neighbourhood to walk around in, in the evening. You can walk to the Subte (subway) in about 10 minutes and from there go anywhere in greater Buenos Aires. The apartment manager, Guille, is a very friendly and efficient manager who welcomed us when we arrived and explained about the apartment and the area and was very responsive when we would contact her. I was very impressed by the owner, Thom, who Is a very hands on owner and responded to any emails we sent very quickly, which was a very nice surprise for us. We have stayed in Buenos Aires 8 previous times and Thom and Guille were the most responsiveness people we have dealt with there. Guille also arranged a ride to the airport for us from Aldo who has a very comfortable van with air conditioning and most importantly he is a very safe driver. The cost was in line with what a taxi would cost and for us seemed much safer. It was also much cheaper than what a Remis (car ride) would cost from the airport. The cleaning person Myrian does a good job cleaning the apartment. This was a very enjoyable stay for us and we would highly recommend this apartment and certainly if we go back it BA we will consider this apartment's availability. Thanks for everything Thom and Guille "Walter Whyte

Great spacious apartment
" We are a mature couple and we loved this apartment. It has a large terrace with plants all around and a small one off the bedroom with distant city views. It has a comfortable bed and even has two bathrooms. We have stayed in this neighborhood before and if we return to it we will definitely want to rent this apt again. Plus the manager, Guille, is great. She was very helpful and is very sweet. " Melissa McCann

GAME CHANGER - I used to live in BA for 5 years, and I promise you there is no better location.
" Having lived in BA for 5 years, I knew exactly where I wanted to stay for my recent visit back. This location in right in the heart of Palermo Soho, close to Palermo Hollywood, and walking distance to everything. The apartment itself is a gem. It's the penthouse suite of a 7 floor building, so it is basically the size of two apartments combined into one. A huge bedroom suite with a walk-in closet and private bathroom, an addition second bathroom, kitchen, living room and dining area, and a brilliant patio (terraza) bigger than you can imagine, and totally private. You also have Thom and Guille to help you out with whatever you need. Don't even think about another place or a hotel. "DANIEL ROSENBERG

Our home away from home in Palermo soho
" We are a couple from Sydney and stayed 2 weeks at Thom's apartment. We had a great stay. The apartment is comfortable and inviting - a welcome home away from home after wandering the streets by foot or bicycle. Being on the 7th floor, it is light and sunny, with great views through the tree tops. If, like us, you come to dance tango, you'll find that the lounge room makes a lovely tango dance floor. local host Guille was wonderful. We shall be back! "Jennifer Arnold

Great place for a short or long stay in BA
" This was our third time to stay at Thom's apartment, which should say it all. Terrific location, terrific owner and team (Guille/Myrian/Aldo) on the ground in BA. We stayed for a month this time, and our daughter joined us for a part of the stay. The apartment easily sleep three. The apartment is in a great location, is comfortable and clean, and has everything you need for a long or short stay. You can walk to everything you need (grocery, restaurants, clothing, fresh pasta), and the subway station is about a 10 minute walk, making it easy to get to all of BA's sights and museums. It's so nice to be able to walk outside your door and have everything you need right there. I highly recommend the apartment--although please don't book it before we can book our fourth visit! :) " Lynne C. Adams

Great place to stay in Buenos Aires
" We are a family from Argentina and knowing the city and places to stay we had a great experiencie at Thom's apartment. The place has everything you'll need whatever you trip is for and whoever you go with (family, couple or friends). It is perfectly located and fully enjoyable even if you want to try to make an asado at the balcony. Great Location and Comfortable
" We had an absolutely fabulous time over several weeks in this Palermo Soho apartment. The unit is very comfortable. Located on the 7th floor it is quiet (for a city unit) and super bright. There is a wonderful balcony where we were able to eat and sip wine (great weather this past April). The kitchen is fully outfitted. I've never experienced more hot water. The internet is quite rapid, always a plus. City lovers will appreciate the fabulous location in the middle of Palermo Soho. There are infinite shops and restaurants. Sure, the area has probably gentrified substantially over recent years -- I still feel it has lots of character -- and it has trees and light. And I did not experience a nicer neighborhood elsewhere in Bs. As. Finally, owner Thom is very responsive and easy-going. The manager Guille was charming and very helpful; she helped make our visit comfortable and fun."Jonathan Weinstein

A month in Buenos Aires
" My wife and I stayed in Thom's apartment for one month recently. We fully endorse the very positive comments of earlier reviewers. The location of the apartment in Palermo is excellent. For those who like to party everything is at your doorstep. For those who seek a more relaxed and truly Buenos Aires experience [ tango, football, fine dining and a multitude of cultural activities] the apartment is an excellent home base. We tried to share as many local experiences as possible- shopping for food, travelling on public transport [with the occasional taxi], long walks around town, shopping for leather jackets and local jewelry and a host of other activities. After a busy and tiring day , we really enjoyed coming "home" to Thom's apartment to refresh , rest and prepare for the next day. The apartment has all the elements you need to live comfortably in Buenos Aires. Earlier reviewers confirm the many assets of living in Thom's apartment. Should you decide to stay in Thom's apartment , you will be able to enjoy the invaluable assistance of Guille who is the manager of the apartment. Booking airport transportation, changing funds, valuable tips about navigating the resources of the city are just a few of the many benefits that she provides to renters. She is the fifth star in my rating of the apartment. Another major feature of the apartment is the spacious and quiet patio. We lived through one of the hottest March heat waves in memory and managed to cope very well due to the patio and the air conditioning of the apartment. I have told Thom that 2 of the patio chairs need rewebbing to meet the needs of 4 persons. He has placed this on his maintenance list. Summing up, I would return to Thom's apartment and recommend it to my friends. Buenos Aires presents many challenges and rewards and comfortable well located accommodation is a must for a successful visit. Thom's apartment and Guille's assistance are a recipe for a memorable holiday."William Badour

Amazing Location!!
" We rented the apartment for approximately two weeks over New Year's Eve and absolutely loved it! The location is incredible, we were within walking distance to awesome restaurants and boutiques. I'd like to make special plug for our friend Alejandro at Malambo, the wine shop down the street. Also, don't miss the coffee at Lattente across the street. The place was perfect for our stay. The place needs a few upgrades, but we really enjoyed our time there; so much so that we even inquired about purchasing property in the neighborhood! "Barbara Czech

Spacious and comfortable
" My husband and I (age 55) stayed in Thom's condo for a month and were very comfortable. First of all, Thom is extremely responsive and professional. His is my fifth rental from VRBO and he is the most responsive owner I have dealt with (and I have had no bad experiences). His property manager, Guille, is a delight. She is very helpful and generous with her time. I especially appreciated that she exchanged our US dollars to Argentine currency (at the favourable blue market rate). This saved us having to go downtown to use the "cambio" money changers. Guille also arranged for Aldo to pick us up at the airport and to return us at the end of our stay. He was reliable, safe and courteous. The condo itself is in a great location. I had been considering renting in Recoletta, but Palermo Soho has far more character. Yes, it is grittier with lots of graffiti, but so much more interesting and with great restaurants. I might add that we never once felt at all unsafe and we walked and took the subway everywhere (except a cab to Bocca). I think the greatest danger is the sidewalks in the neighbourhood, many of which are in poor condition. The condo itself is very spacious and comfortable. I'm currently writing this from another VRBO rental in Santiago, Chile. Although it is newer and more modern, I am missing the space of our Buenos Aires rental! Especially the patio! I give this condo four stars instead of five only because some of the furnishings and utensils are becoming a bit "tired." However, I suggested improvements to Thom and he said he would address them--and I believe he will. Would I return here or recommend this condo to friends? Yes! "Barbara Czech

Wonderful Home Away from Home!
" My husband and I came to Buenos Aires for his business conference. We chose Palermo and this apartment because of its proximity to the conference center. My husband enjoyed being able to walk there in about 20 minutes, everyday. The owner and property manager were very resposive via email before our departure from the U.S. They arranged a driver to meet us at the airport and bring us to the apartment. We were warmly greeted upon arrival by the property manager. She spent a great deal of time answering all of our questions, giving us a way to contact her anytime, and orienting us to the neigborhood amenities (restaurants, shopping, grocery store,etc.). We appreciated the privacy of being the only apartment as you exit the elevator. We enjoyed the "wall of windows" in the living room and bedroom. These provided great breezes, views and light while still being private, as the apartment is on the top floor. We were also appreciative of the laptop computer with instant internet access, the big television, well equipped kitchen, great shower and bathtub, comfortable bed, and even the little hummingbird that visited the orange flowers on the balcony several times a day! We enjoyed walking to various restaurants in Palermo, sampling the empanadas. I felt very safe walking about on my own, while my husband attended meetings. I enjoyed shopping in the Leather District for great bargains, and even walking to a couple of Zumba classes. Inspite of our extremely limited Spanish, we have found everyone warm, friendly, and helpful. The property owner and property manager have gone out of their way to make our stay in Buenos Aires even better than we imagined. If we have the opportunity to return to Buenos Aires, we would not hesitate to stay here again. We wholeheartedly recommend this apartment! "Bob and Lisa Jamison

Second Year in a Row
" We just finished our second month-long trip to Buenos Aires in the last two years. We stayed in this great place last year and could not think of any reason to go anywhere else this year. The apartment is accurately displayed and described in the listing. You get the top floor of the building all to yourselves. The terrace/veranda is an amazingly peaceful spot. It’s high enough (the eighth floor) so much of the noise disappears. It is a great place to split a bottle of Malbec before heading out into night. Palermo Soho has many great well-known restaurants within walking distance (Don Julio and La Cabrera, to name just two) but other lesser known gems. Located on Thames, it’s near Plazas Serrano, Armenia and Italia. BsAs cabs are readily available and quite inexpensive. The whole city is yours for a US$15 cab ride (at most) or for the adventuresome, hop a bus. The apartment is well-appointed and very comfortable. No feeling of claustrophobia as the rooms are quite spacious. The pictures do not do the apartment justice, especially the terrace. We did some two- and three-day side trips and when we got back we felt like it was home. Finally, Thom, the owner, and Guille, the manager are just great. Guille, Elaine is still talking about the private Tango lesson. "William F. Neckrock

Excellent place to Stay in Buenos Aires, Argentina
" My daughter stayed at the Valentino Penthouse and she highly recommended it. We decided to try it and we absolutely loved it!!! The apartment is centrally located, near restaurants, shops and entertainment. It is on the 7th floor and it is clean, spacious and well furnished. The master bedroom has a balcony with a wonderful view of the city and the family room has another balcony with a view to the neighborhood. The kitchen came in handy as we were able to make coffee and prepare simple meals. We also had high-speed internet service and were able to communicate with our family in the U.S. Thom Downey, the owner, was professional and helpful. He was prompt in replying back to us, easy to get a hold of, and ensured we had an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Gille, the apartment manager, offered us a warm welcome, was very kind and gave us a lot of tips about the city. Although we stayed 10 days at the Penthouse, we felt we didn’t have enough time to visit all the touristic places. Buenos Aires is a large city and we would love to come back and stay at the Valentino’s Penthouse to see more of the city. We highly recommend this place for its location and cleanliness. "Anonymous

A lovely Apartment
" We arrived at the apartment very late in the midst of an electrical storm with sheeting rain, but the warm welcome from Guille and the sight of the lightning from the huge windows was amazing. The windows led us on to the very large tiled patio, where asado, table and four chairs, plus sun lounger and umbrella were waiting for us on the arrival of the sun,we hoped the next day.The bedroom also had a smaller patio, with the afternoon sun filling the room. Our blinds were never closed, it was a delight to watch the night sky. We enjoyed the kitchen, galley style, with all the things we needed. The six seater dining room table where we had many meals with our BA friends and children. I especially enjoyed tending to Thoms roof top garden plants. We hope the herbs will be enjoyed by all who have chosen this lovely apartment. One of our,Oh My Goodness moments came when we were having lunch when Mr Mrs Hummingbird arrived to drink the nectar from the Aloe flowers..He, She.came often, as did the very big pigeon that collected my prunings to build her nest. Palermo Soho has many interesting places to visit and many quaint shops.Tango venues are also not too far away. The apartment is quiet even though there is a busy humm of life below. We would not hesitate to recommend Thoms roof top apartment, and definitely want to return for another visit to Buenos Aires. Many Thanks Thom. "Kay and Bevan

Apartment ideal for tango vacation
" Thom's Valentino apartment in Palermo Soho has been ideal for us. For this, our first visit to Buenos Aires, we wanted a very liveable, secure apartment in a "safe" neighbourhood that was close to first-class tango maestros who we could take private lessons with, and close to venues for highly-rated milongas. Our preferred Palermo-based maestro suggested the Valentino apartment that his other students had rented and had spoken highly of. Unfortunately, the apartment was occupied by another guest for the first two weeks of our six week trip, so we divided our BsAs stay into two weeks in Retiro and a month in Palermo, thereby giving us an unanticipated benefit of having time in close proximity to the two largest clusters of tango happenings. Thom was generous and helpful in various ways, including getting Guille to organise transport from the airport to our Retiro apartment, and to organise preparation of the Palermo apartment late in the day of our subsequent move to Palermo to facilitate a late checkout for the previous guest and an evening checkin for ourselves. Guille was very welcoming and helpful with her advice and with her answers to our questions. The apartment has been ideal for us in numerous ways. It is quiet, spacious, clean, well equipped, and has two bathrooms, good air-conditioning, good internet and nice outlooks from the living rooms and large sundeck facing south-east and from the bedroom and ensuite facing north-west. By opening the sliding doors at both ends of the apartment we have enjoyed a refreshing cross-breeze throughout the very hot (25C to 35C) January we have experienced. Numerous mirrors and good lighting have been well appreciated when getting ready for outings, and the washing machine and portable clothes line on the front deck have enabled us to keep our laundry right up to date. While the pavement quality, property security grills and traffic management are somewhat third-worldly throughout BsAs, in Palermo the trees, parks, boutiques and (selected) restaurants, cafes, bars and coffee houses are first class, including many that are within two or three blocks of the apartment. There are at least six milonga venues within a ten minute walk, including Salon Canning, La Viruta and Villa Malcolm with some of the smaller-less-well-known ones now among our favourites. For our future return visits to BsAs we will be likely to plan our dates around the availability of the Valentino apartment. "Anonymous

Valentino's Experience
" I’m glad to report my experience as a guest at Valentino’s pent house. Differently from my other times in Buenos aires, far from the busy and crowdy downtown or the touristic Recoleta, I discovered a new face of the city. It is just like emerging into the city’s heart of charm. Palermo Soho is the best of we can call variety. All sorts of fun; good food, beautiful people, colorful and fancy neighborhood, cool little and cozy, or traditional places to eat. For all tastes and pockets. Near to metro station, few blocks nice walking, or taking colectivos/buses, we can easily and comfortably go everywhere in the city, from the house. The apartment itself deserves special description, and is so comfortable and invitting , that is easy to stay enjoying the terrazzo, or the nice landscape from the backyards bedroom little varanda, looking at the skyline of the new Buenos Aires places and high buildings in the horizon, Soho have small buildings 6 floors maximum, what allows the wonderful view from both sides of the property. Well equipped kitchen, nice and comfortable furniture, warmed by the heating, making the very warmful place to stay in Buenos Aires as a local. As a carioca( im from Rio de Janeiro) I was enchanted by the bohemian atmosphere and at the same time, safe place to walk, no matter the time. The apartment is clean, good linen, good taste on simplicity. Its a pretty much elegant place. The manager and staff are very efficient, kind and always available for us. I highly recommend it.
